Leaving Reno

Once again, we hit the road - this time to Carson, ND (look that up on your Rand McNally Road Atlas).  We're leaving this morning and heading to Pocatello - wish there were some way to magically transport us east on US 80 to Wells.  However, the Star Fleet transporter is still not available on Amazon (one of the few things which isn't available there).

The memorial service for Vi's cousin, Bernice (more affectionately known as Butch) was held in Edmonds and we were up there at that time.  However, her wish was for her ashes to be interred in Carson, ND - the home town for the Bonogofsky clan.  We have been to the family cemetery there before, but never spent any time in Carson. We have reservations at a local motel in Carson for Friday and Saturday night and the service is on Saturday.

On the way, we may take a different route than the interstate.  On our last trip to North Dakota, I came across a booklet on the Yellowstone Trail.  Before the government got involved in building highways, local entrepreneurs took it upon themselves to build roads to take products to markets.  Originally, the Yellowstone Trail was conceived as a route from Plymouth Rock to the Puget Sound.  In Montana and South Dakota, it roughly follows US 12.  We'll see how we fare on that route.
